Autoptimize Best Settings Configuration For WordPress(2021)

There are various optimization plugins for WordPress users but still, I think Autoptimize is one the best plugin to minify java, CSS and Html. I have used this plugin and tested with other plugins also, but the page performance result comes in the favour of Autoptimize.
So, today I am going to show you the Autoptimize best settings configuration for WordPress to get better performance in page speed tools like Gtmetrix, Google Pagespeed Insights and Pingdom.
After using the below settings you can also check.
For better comparison check the results now and later after saving the settings. And to get the best results at least refresh 3 times.

Autoptimize Best Settings Configuration For WordPress
1. Install and Activate
Go to plugins-Add new-Search Autoptimize-Install-Activate
2. Settings
You can find the Autoptimize settings in your admin settings in the left. Look at the picture below for better understanding.
Click on Autoptimize.
3. JS,CSS & HTML Settings
Optimize Javascript Code – Enable
Aggregate JS files? – Enable
Also aggregate inline JS? – This can improve my page performance but the reason I cannot enable this is because this stops my popup to display. You can check this setting by enabling or disabling the feature.
Force JavaScript in <head>? – Disable
Exclude scripts from Autoptimize – Leave as it is.
Add try-catch wrapping – Disable
4. CSS Options
Optimize CSS code – Enable
Aggregate CSS files – Enable
Also aggregate Inline CSS – Enable
Generate data: URLs for images – Disable
Inline and Defer CSS – Disable
Inline all CSS – Disable
Exclude CSS from Autoptimize – Leave as it is
5. HTML Options, CDN & Cache Info
Optimize HTML code– Enable
Keep HTML comments – Disable
CDN base URL – Leave this blank if you are using Cloudflare otherwise enter your CDN root URL to enable CDN for autoptimized files.
Cache Info – In this section, you will find your cache folder, cached styles & scripts.
6. Misc Options
Save aggregated script/CSS as static files – Enable
Minify excluded CSS & JS files – Enable
Experimental: Enable 404 fallbacks – Enable
Also, optimize for logged-in editors/administrators – Enable
Save changes and now click to Images from the top.
7. Images Settings
Optimize images – Disable
Lazy Load images – Enable (Recommended)
Lazy Load exclusions – Leave as it is
save changes.
8. Extra Settings
Google fonts – Remove google fonts as it impacts on your page load time or if you want google fonts then enable “combine and link in the head”.
Remove emojis – Enable
Remove query strings from static resources – Enable
Preconnect to 3rd party domains – Leave blank
Preload specific requests – Leave blank
Async JavaScript files – Leave blank
Optimize Youtube videos – Leave blank or If you are using/uploading Youtube videos in your blog posts then click on the “click here to install and activate it”. Basically it will redirect you to their WP Youtube lite plugin which is good for optimizing YouTube videos.
Save changes.
9. Optimize more
These are the premium plugins, themes, CDN for better optimization. You don’t need to buy these if you are a beginner.
10. Critical CSS
This is a premium plugin to optimize more things like removing render-blocking. You can also do this without plugin so I recommend not purchasing this plugin.
