Blogging Questions & Answers – By Ajmer Singh
Q. Blogging full-time or part-time?
A. Blogging can be a full-time job for some and a part-time job for others. The difference here is the rate of success.
If one gains popularity, then blogging is likely to become a full-time job as they will start receiving income through advertisements, affiliate links, sponsorships etc.
But if it’s just not going so well with them and they’re not getting much traffic to their blog, then it’s more like a part-time job.
To summarize:
– If you run your own blog and it becomes popular, then blogging can be your full-time job.
– But if the popularity is low and you don’t earn enough money from ads or income, then it’ll be more like a part-time job for you.
However, it’s not necessary that everyone who is a part-time blogger makes less money than a full-time blogger.
It just depends on the popularity of the blog and how well you’re able to monetize your content.
Q. How do you consider your blogging career?
A. Who am I blogging for? I blog for my readers, not anyone else. Thus, it’s a full-time job for me.
Q. How much time do you spend on your blog daily?
A. At least 8 hours per day or more depending upon the kind of content I am writing and topics I need to cover.
Q. Do you monetize your blog?
A. Of course, yes!
I’m still not able to make a living from it but my audience is increasing gradually and so are my earnings via ads and affiliate programs.
Bloggers who write lengthy articles or those who review products at length can expect more than just ‘hobby bloggers’ that create content for the heck of it.
I think everyone should start their own blog or website to learn about how to do it.
It’s not as difficult as you might believe! Try it once and see for yourself.
If people are interested in your content, then they will visit your site regularly which is what you need for monetizing your blog.
If you need any information or help, just contact me and I’ll get back to you!
Q. Do you write for any other blog?
A. I do, yes! I write content for different blogs and websites to gain more experience.
Sometimes, people pay me if they like my work and want more of it on their website/blog.
I also prefer doing Guest blogging for more backlinks to my website.
Q: How much is blogging a full-time job compared to a part-time job?
A: It depends upon whether you’re monetizing your blog or not.
If it’s a full-time job, then the chances are that you earn enough to have a decent lifestyle along with being able to pay off all of your debts etc.
If blogging is just a part-time thing for you, let’s say you spend 1-2 hours on it per day, then you can consider making around $100-$200 through ads etc.
Q: How do you feel about the question ‘is blogging a career?’
A: I enjoy writing so blogging is my full-time job and not just a career for me.
It’s something that enables me to earn more money than I used to make.
Q: Do you think blogging is a good career choice?
A: It’s definitely one of the best ones to choose from!
I’m just making my way through it, but I have no complaints whatsoever. I love being a full-time blogger.

A: My next plan is to launch my second website to offer my services which will be the best thing ever!

I am not a professional writer by any means, but I love writing and that’s why I started my blog.
Q: Do you plan to continue blogging as a full-time job?
A: I am certainly going to continue blogging as long as I can!
It’s been so much fun for me and I have made some really great friends from all around the world.
If you stick to your goals, they’re bound to come true. Just do it.

There is a lot of hard work involved and you should not even think about taking that path unless you’re passionate about it.
I hope you enjoyed reading this article as much as I enjoyed writing it for you!
Q. So how can you monetize your blog?
A: I have started monetizing my blog by running different kinds of ads on it (Currently using affiliate links).
It’s the best way to make money through blogging because many companies are willing to pay bloggers to advertise their products for them.
Q: How are you planning to expand your blog?
A: I am planning to expand my blog by launching new website where I offer my services for beginners.
In fact, I launched it but still under construction, you can check and provide feedback if possible.
Q: How do you come up with new ideas for your blog?
A: I try not to limit myself in this aspect, I feel like the more ideas I have, the better for me.
If I write an article about something that interests me, it’s bound to interest my readers as well.
Q: Where do you get your ideas from?
A: I mostly get my ideas for posts by looking at other blogs or websites.
Sometimes I might stumble upon completely random topics that seem interesting but somehow relate to blogging in some way, so why not write about them?
Q: Are you still blogging or do you have to take a break sometimes? Why?
A: I am currently blogging every day because it’s what I love to do!
I’m having so much fun doing this and even if I don’t make any money, it won’t stop me from sharing my knowledge with others.
I still think I can do better, so you’ll be seeing some changes to my blog in the near future.
Q: What are your thoughts on commission-based blogging?
A: I’m having mixed feelings about it.
Because there is no guarantee that your commissions will increase by an enormous amount overnight after implementing some of the strategies that you can find online.
Q: How did you come up with your blog’s name?
A: I am not sure if this counts as an answer, but I’d like to mention that my blog is named after one of my personal interests (Tech).
I started my career in Blogspot/bloggers with a tech niche and FindMyTricks is perfect for this topic in my opinion.
Q: What are the resources you use for your blog?
A: Honestly, I use all kinds of resources for my blog.
I am constantly browsing the Internet to pick up some new information or learn about something that interests me.
That way I always have some content ready in my drafts when inspiration strikes again.
I also enjoy watching YouTube videos.
So sometimes if I feel like writing but don’t feel like coming up with new ideas, I simply watch a few videos and then write a short summary.
Q: How do you pick your topics?
A: I mostly choose my topics depending on how much I know about them.
My main goal is to share my knowledge with others so if I feel that something is interesting enough, chances are I start writing about it and share it with my readers.
If I’m not interested in a particular topic, chances are great that I won’t start writing about it.
Q: What do you think is the best blogging platform?
A: WordPress.org no doubt.
It’s the most popular blogging platform out there and it has a lot to offer, especially if you’re just starting out.
It takes some time to learn but once you’re done with this learning curve, it will be way easier for you to continue building your website.
Q: What do you think is the best blogging theme?
A: Best blogging theme is always subjective.
There are people who prefer one and there are people who prefer something else.
I think it’s best to see the pros and cons of each theme you can find so you can choose what works best for your blog.
By the way, I am using Themify Ultra on my website.
Q: What do you think is the best web hosting provider?
A: If you are just starting out then go with Bluehost or Siteground.
However, I never recommend shared hostings as this can affect your website performance. Cloud hosts are the best to consider.
I recommend Cloudways and also I am using this on my websites.
Q: What do you think about affiliate marketing websites?
A: I think they are great. If done right, they can be extremely helpful for both bloggers and their readers.
My only concern is that some people might take advantage of it and promote shitty products just because there is a chance to earn a commission for it.
Q: What do you think about sponsored posts?
A: I don’t see anything wrong with doing them as long as it’s clear to your readers that this is a sponsored post.
That way they will be able to distinguish between the content you write.
Because you really think it’ll help others.
Q: What are your thoughts on guest blogging?
A: Guest blogging can be a great way for smaller bloggers to get some more exposure and bigger followings.
I like how you’re not limited to your own blog’s audience and the chance of getting new followers is much higher.
The only downside in my opinion is that it takes a lot of time (mainly if you’re writing for bigger websites) and sometimes it’s really difficult to communicate with editors.
A: I think this question is a bit vague so I’ll answer based on my personal preferences.
If we are talking about blogging purposes, I would say Facebook and Quora.
If we talk about social media in general, I prefer Instagram.
Q: What do you think about restricting ads to certain countries?
A: Restricting ads by country might sound like a good idea but in reality, it’s not.
The reason is that it doesn’t matter where your readers are from, they should be able to enjoy the content you write and hopefully use it to better their lives.
Q: What do you think about affiliate links?
A: I find affiliate links pretty useful. They’re usually not the main source of income for websites but they can be helpful if done right.
Just make sure your readers know what they are clicking on and most importantly, don’t try to trick them into clicking on it.
Q: What do you think about sponsorships?
A: Sponsorships can be a great way for bloggers to earn some extra money and support their blog or other projects.
Just make sure you don’t take any crappy offers and always know what your readers want and need.
Q: How often do you write?
A: I try to create new content every day or at least 5 times a week.
Q: How often do you post?
A: Depending on my schedule, I try to publish at least 3-4 posts a week.
Q: What is your writing process like? Do you have any pre-writing rituals?
A: I don’t really have any rituals when it comes to writing but I find it helpful if I write down ideas or drafts before I actually start writing.
Q: How many hours/day do you work on your blog? Do you have to wake up early? Sleep early?
A: Right now I’m spending around 7-8 hours a day on my blog.
Some of the time is spent working, some reading other blogs and some working on this blog (publishing or other stuff like that).
I also want to add that it doesn’t matter how much time you spend creating content if you’re not doing it right.
Q: What sort of content do you usually write?
A: Most of the time I’m writing about WordPress & Blogging.
Q: How many times do you write an article?
A: I usually start by writing an outline or creating mindmaps so it can take me anywhere from 1-3 hours (sometimes more than that) to write a blog post.
Q: How do you come up with ideas for blog posts?
A: It came to my attention that many people are struggling with this.
The best way is to stay active on social media, follow trends and be involved in your niche.
For example, if I see something cool or interesting about blogging I might make a whole post dedicated to it.
Q: How do you come up with unique blog post content?
A: I think coming up with original content is definitely one of the hardest things to do.
If it’s hard for me, I can only imagine how difficult this must be for big companies and bloggers who need more than 5-6 articles per week.
One way they do it is by hiring writers who specialize in certain fields of blogging (fitness, makeup, fashion etc.).
Q: How do you manage to write so often?
A: I like creating content and have a lot of ideas so it’s not really hard for me to do.
Q: How long does it take you to publish a blog post?
A: Again, this depends on the length of the article but I would say 5-15 minutes is enough for most posts.
Sometimes it can take more time if I have to edit photos or add them to the blog post.
Basically, On-page SEO is what that takes time.
Q: How do you schedule your content for publishing?
A: I use a WordPress plugin called blog2social which is very useful when it comes to scheduling content on social media.
It definitely saves me time and helps with keeping track of what I’ve published and where.
Q: How do you determine what your readers want to read about?
A: I really don’t think there’s a specific answer to this.
Some people think bloggers should only write posts similar to ones that are already popular on their blog, some say you should stick with one niche and write about everything within it…
I personally like writing about the things I’m interested in and I think my readers do too.
Q: What is your most popular blog post?
A: If I had to pick one, it would probably be this one – How To make money online without investment.
This is my first article, I never forget that.
Only this article is ranking over 200+ keywords all over the world.
Q: How do you publish your blog posts?
A: I use Notepad to write all of my articles – it’s easier for me.
They are then published on WordPress where I also add photos and SEO tags.
Q: Do you schedule blog post ideas or create them as soon as they come to mind?
A: This depends but I usually have a few blog post ideas saved on Sticky notes.
So if I don’t have anything to write about, I check there and start working.
Q: Do you ever go back and edit your articles? If so, how often?
A: This also depends but I try to do this as much as possible (every 2-3 weeks) to make sure the blog is running smoothly.
Q: Do you plan out your blog post topics ahead of time?
A: Yes, I do – it makes things easier for me.
If there’s nothing specific coming up I spend around 10 minutes planning my content for the upcoming month/week etc.
Q: What would you recommend to someone who wants to start blogging?
A: I think the best advice would be for people thinking about building a blog is to just do it – and see how things go.
It’s easy nowadays and you can really bring your ideas and content online without much effort.
Q: Do you write different styles of articles (i.e. list posts, images with descriptions, etc.)?
A: I use different styles of articles on my blog – it depends on the topic and what I feel like doing that day.
When it comes to long-form content (like this one), I try to write things as clearly and precisely as possible.
Q: Do you turn off the internet while writing so distractions don’t take your attention away from your work?
A: Sometimes I do but when I’m in the zone it’s actually hard to stop me! Haha. 😉
Q: What are some tools you use when blogging?
A: Here are my most used blog tools – Sticky-note, Notepad and Grammarly.
Q: Do you use any paid tools for your blog? If so – which ones and why do you think they’re worth it?
A: I’ve used a few but none of them was really that much helpful to me – personal opinion though.
Some bloggers find them really useful, it just depends on what you’re looking for and what you need.
However, I use only Semrush for keyword research and Link Whisper for internal linking.
A: I only use one of them – Blog2social.
It’s great for scheduling your content on all of the popular social media networks.
Q: Do you hire people to write articles for you? If so, how do you find writers that can meet your specific needs?
A: I do hire writers.
It’s pretty easy to work with freelancers – you just have to make sure the person is talented and reliable 🙂
I look for them in my Facebook group which has 100k+ followers.
Q: What are your favourite productivity tools?
A: There are so many good ones. If I had to choose, it would be Grammarly.
Q: If you could give your past self advice when he first started blogging – what would you tell yourself?
A: Hmmm…I don’t really know.
I think sometimes you need to make mistakes in order to learn and grow – that’s just the way life works.

A: Yes, I do.
Sometimes they are the starting point for the blog post or sometimes I keep them as ideas to write about in the future.
Q: How long do you think it takes to write a blog article?
A: It depends but usually around 2-3 hours.
I always make sure to plan the article before starting, it really speeds things up for me.
Q: Do you write your blog posts first and then schedule them or schedule them first?
A: For most of my articles I schedule them first – this way I can plan my day better.
If it’s really urgent, though, I write the blog post and schedule it later on.

A: Yes – that’s the main idea of blogging.
This way you can keep people informed about anything related to your business and it helps you increase your online presence.
Q: How much time do you spend on your blog each day?
A: It depends, I try to stay in touch with my audience via social media and comment section as much as possible no matter how busy I am.
If I want to write a new article, though – one or two hours a day.
Q: Do you write your blog posts on a word processor or directly into the WordPress dashboard?
A: I prefer using a word processor to start with, then place it into the WordPress dashboard and finish everything there.
It’s just easier for me this way 🙂
Q: Do you hire people to do your SEO for you or do it yourself?
A: I didn’t use to.
Since I have a lot of experience in SEO I do most of my own SEO work. It’s not that difficult once you know what you’re doing 🙂
Q: Do you write blog posts on your smartphone?
A: No. I never thought about trying it, actually 🙂
A: Not really. Other powerful tools are available but I always try to stick to what works best for me.
You should always do research on new tools and see if they are compatible with your blogging needs or not 🙂
Q: Do you research topics before writing your posts? If so, how do you go about it?
A: I used to. Nowadays though I prefer to just write what I feel like.
Most of my articles are based on personal experiences and thoughts, they’re pretty personal that way.
A: I don’t really have one. I use them all and enjoy doing so 🙂
Q: Do you write an outline for your blog posts?
A: No. I usually plan the article in my head and then start writing – it’s just easier for me this way, to be honest.
Q: What is the best way to promote your blog article?

A: Make a short but catchy title, use a relevant picture and offer valuable information 🙂
Q: Do you ask for feedback from your readers?
A: I do – mostly via social media.
It’s a good way to know what they think about my content and maybe find some inspiration.
A: Yes. It’s important to be in touch with your audience and social media is the best way to do that!
Q: Do you write just for search engines or mainly for people?
A: A bit of both.
You should always focus on your target group first and then write relevant articles for them – this usually works best.
Q: How much money did you spend initially to start your blog?
A: Around $7-8 for the domain name (per year) from Godaddy.
Other than that, $13-15 for hosting (Cloudways) (per month) and $30-40 for the theme (Themify Ultra) (per year).
Q: What are your costs per month?
A: Right now I spend about $50 per month.
It’s probably going to change in the near future though.
I have some new ideas for the promotion that cost me quite a lot of money, but they’re also more effective in my opinion.
Q: How important is it to offer quality content on your blog?
A: Very. You should always go for quality and not quantity when writing blog posts, in my opinion.
Quality blog posts bring more traffic to your site – keep that in mind!
Q: If given the opportunity, would you change anything about your blog or how it’s run?
A: Not really – I manage to make a pretty good income from my blog and I’m happy with the results 🙂
Q: Do you think a person who is considering starting a blog should hire someone to design it for them, or do it themselves? Why?
A: If they know coding and such, they should do it themselves. If not, hiring someone is probably the best option for them.
However, it’s easier now to design websites using drag and drop themes like Themify Ultra.
Q: Which part of blogging do you enjoy most?
A: I like it when my articles bring value to others and help them solve their problems – that’s what blogging is all about in my opinion.
Q: Do you have any specific blogging niche or are you trying to cover everything?

Q: Do you think the blogging bubble will burst?
A: In fact, I think there’s a HUGE opportunity in blogging right now – more people need to learn how to make money from their blogs!
